This is part of the story about the woman Malila who was a cripple – it happened at a place called Piltardi. Malila had two daughters who ran away with their secret husbands. Malila was getting desperately hungry and looked as far as she could for her daughters. Eventually she found them sitting with the families of their husbands. She got really angry and turned into a monster and hit all the family. Then she died. The daughters left and the men considered what they should become after this event. They considered many creatures, like a frog, and a kangaroo and a bird and eventually decided to become rainbow serpents (Wanampi). The two sisters then swallowed the Wanampi and kept them forever in their throats.
