Rowena Love is a well-published poet and writer based in Troon. She is Writer in Residence for the Ayrshire Charity ‘Writability’, and a past president of Ayr Writers’ Club. She is an experienced speaker, performer and workshop leader.

Beginnner:
Just started writing creatively? Not sure how to improve on what you're doing? Or maybe you're not sure which genre would best suit your style of writing. If so, this is the course for you. The course will explore the most basic principles of good writing in poetry, fiction and non-fiction to get your writing off to a flying start, with plenty of practical examples to help you put what you learn into practice. You'll leave the course with a much better idea of your strengths and weaknesses and what to do about them.

Writing Workshop:
Whether you're writing purely for pleasure or hoping for publication, this could be the course you've been looking for. From jump-starting your creativity to a more detailed look at writing technique, and how it varies between genres, this course will provide plenty of practical support as well as ideas for how to improve. Using a variety of source material, the course will experiment with different types of writing to see what best suits your own 'voice'. It will also look at possible markets for your work.

Poetry:
If poetry feeds the soul then this course will be a poetic buffet. The course will have a number of different themed workshops using plenty of original material in a variety of media as inspiration for your own writing.
Specific poetry forms and techniques will also form part of the course, as will ways to use your own experiences in your writing. You should leave replete, with a doggy-bag of ideas that ought to keep you writing for quite some time to come.
