In the converted buildings of the historic village pub, you find the Kunsthof Bahnitz, with a first rate, romantic B and B, an open atelier, an old-fashioned english-style library, a small gallery-café plus terrasse and a luscious garden. The Kunsthof offers painting holidays and opens its premises for all kinds of cultural activities.
Here, the painting and creative writing courses take place (weeklong, extended weekends). The atelier is also open for seminars, workshops, retreats, festivities, readings, concerts, theater, exhibitions...
Painting courses (drawing, pastel, acryl, aquarel, monotypes, oil) are taught in English and German, in inimitable fashion, by Melodie Ebner-Joerges who also oversees garden and kitchen of the Kunsthof, and by invited artists.

Bahnitz - one of the prettiest villages around Berlin
Coming from Pritzerbe on the Havel on the B 102, somewhere between the cities of Brandenburg a.d.H. and Rathenow, you cross the river on the idyllic ferry leading to Bahnitz, one of the prettiest villages in the lower Havel region. Bahnitz is part of the nature protection park Westhavelland, takes pride of the "smallest church in Germany", a splendid jetty looking for boats, a fine liitle beach, a rare historic "needle" water lock, a model milk farm, the mandatory storks.. and not much else. The quiet and idylic atmosphere of the place has attracted many artists to Bahnitz.
Berlin and Potsdam/Sansscouci are within easy reach for excursions to the big city.
