Introduction to coloured pencils (#857)
I was born in Peru, but lived in the UK for 14 years working as a Bilingual Secretary/PA before moving to Spain with my husband Pete in 2006. I am a self-taught artist and it's only when I moved to Spain that my artistic passion from childhood returned. I paint mainly people and animal portraits as well as traditional Spanish scenes such as Flamenco dancing. My main media are coloured pencils and gouache. I also paint wall murals and Trompe l'oeil. In 2007 I joined a British artist, Jenny Wray, and together as the Malaga Mountains Artists we exhibited in the Axarquía region of Andalucia at the end of 2007 and throughout 2008. In early 2009 I was accepted as a new member of the AIA-Group (Andalusian International Artists Group) and I am currently exhibiting with them in various venues on the Costa del Sol. I am also a member of the UKCPS (UK Coloured Pencil Society) and in 2009 I won two awards for works in coloured pencils with this society.
